Fixing our sagging floor

Finding (or admitting to myself) that the floor in the boys room was not in any way flat or level, was a pretty demoralising time. It happened at the start of a week off which I’d aimed to use to get the room all done apart from the painting; instead, I spent most of the…

Concept proven…

So, one side took about 4 hours, and there’s the extra work of lining out the shutter boxes to do when I remove the old slats, but it seems well worth it to me. With some beads on and hung a bit better, they should look like they’ve always been there!

One down…

I did a lot more plastering over the weekend, around all our new sockets and an unnecessary trench we put above the fireplace. Pictures of all that are to come, but today I finished off my first socket! I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, for a first attempt! It will definitely need some…

Plastamateur

We’re slowly but surely progressing towards painting the living room that I triumphantly pulled apart back in July. It’s been slow going, because any cut corners would just annoy me when it’s all finished. That’s why I spent weeks stripping all the paint off the cornice, and why we both suffered through stripping the paint…
